Perfect Stranger by Jake Cross

Perfect Stranger by Jake Cross, a fast-paced and entertaining thriller with a lot of twists in the plot, will keep you glued to pages till the very end. A brilliant storyline with caliber to keep the reader on the edge

Chris and rose with their perfect marriage and beautiful young daughter, are living their dreamlike life. And one day a stranger, Katie, arrives at a doorstep claiming to be Chris’s daughter from a forgotten summer fling. Where Chris being reluctant to accept Katie as her daughter, Rose open heartedly invite the girl to be part of the family. Chris is trying to get over this shock when he faces another challenge. Sudden circumstances force him to provide shelter to Katie. But when Katie moves in with this family, strange things start to happen. The people in Chris’s life, are mysteriously disappearing and getting attacked. And somehow, shreds of evidence are pointing towards Chris as an attacker.

Rose willing accepts Katie. But when she discovers Chris being untruthful about things, she finds herself thinking whether she has invited threat to her home or she is been leaving with it all along. This engaging phycological thriller will keep readers guessing and the best bit about the novel is no one can be trusted. Readers get to witness the plot designed with tremendous efforts and discipline. There are no loose ends to the story. Every event which had been kept hanging, the author had stitched it up correctly at the end.

The novel is exceptionally well-edited and easy to read. The story kicks off with tension and it doesn’t relent till the very end. There are a lot of twists in the story that will keep you rotating around and thinking who the culprit is. The author had successfully created enough suspicion around each character which makes it very difficult to guess. Even if you are a huge fan of the thriller genre and very good at uncovering the secret, you will still doubt your guess while reading this novel.

Needless to say, I enjoyed this book immensely. I recommend this to readers who enjoy thriller novels. Some sexual comments, however, may not be suitable for young readers. I like everything about this book. Hence, I rate it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This interesting, exciting and engaging novel is a must to read.
